Pictorial Input Chat about American Eagle. |
After we cut out our foot and our hands, we ripped white paper for the head and added a beak and feet.
Thank you Fun Handprint Art for the eagle idea.
Oopsey Daisy Blog has a tons of amazing units. I am currently loving her U is for USA unit. We used action cards to decide how we should transition from one place to another throughout our day.
Hilarious! |
Happy Saturday,

Thanks. Some of my kids kept calling them turkeys all morning.
DeleteI just found your blog and was interested when I saw your American Symbols posts. I taught 3rd grade last year and used that same Pictorial Input Chart on the American Eagle. I really enjoyed teaching that unit. I was transferred to a different school this year and to first grade. I miss teaching 3rd grade and that unit. I like how you began with looking at symbols everywhere before looking at the American Symbols. I hope that I will be able to return to that grade soon. It looks like you are also a teacher in Oregon.

I have taught 2/3 blends the past two years, and am so grateful to be teaching one grade, though I do miss the looping aspect of the blend. American Symbols is one of my favorites! I taught 1st grade for 4 years, before looping up to 2nd. I loved it. I found your blog and started following! Glad you are doing well. And a fellow Oregonian!
