Miss Foote Cupcake Life Skill Update

Sunday, I posted about the "Miss Foote" way to eat a cupcake.  I like to take the bottom off and put it back on the top, so the cupcake can be eaten like a sandwich.  And well, this is something my class needs to be able to do.  So I taught it to them, and had them write how-to instructions.  I thought you might like some instructions in case you want to know the "Miss Foote" way to eat a cupcake.

 In pictures
and words...(please ignore the first try spelling)

Like a boss????
Now you can try on your own:-)

This is the video from Sunday's post, in case you missed it.

 Cupcake Life Skill

The most important thing I teach my class every year is how to eat a cupcake.  I could explain, but this video does a much better job.
We are going to write a practice how to paper with the proper way to eat cupcakes.
Anyone else eat cupcakes in such a neat logical fasion?

 How To...Putt Putt

Finally Friday!  We have been working on writing how-to papers without using "and then" for every sentence.  First we made a list of substitutes for the words, "and then."   Then we made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.  Finally, we wrote about it, using our new words.

Tonight is our school beach party.  We have all sorts of fun things going on.  Raffle baskets, games, pizza, face painting...and Putt-Putt!  Over the summer I found this post over at The Sharpened Pencil and knew it was something we could add to our annual Beach Party.  Here are the three putt-putt holes we made for tonight's excitement.   The second grade made one hole for something to do with what we learned so far this year.
Toys Go Out...we LOVED this book!
