A linky party is going on over at Primary Possibilities.
Share a something about your school, something about a sport, and something that makes you smile.
School: I have been at my school for 10 years...and it is the only school I have taught at. My school has artist residencies once a year. Artists come in to our rooms and teach art alongside curriculum. Loved almost every experience we have had with our artists in residence.
Sport: LOVE the Dodgers...but can't play baseball.
Volleyball is the sport I can play. Coaching 4th and 5th grade former students is one of my favorite parts of the year.
Smile: Teaching makes me smile. It is increasingly difficult and
challenging. My kids make me smile and I love each new group. But when
they read, my heart smiles. I love that they sit/lay/recline wherever they can be comfortable.
Put books in your kids hands! Give them a library full of choice!
Now go check out other people's 3 S's.

More Monday Made It...With a Freebie
Super easy.....you all can do this! You only need paper, scissors, and glue. Every year, I find a quote and simply scrapbook around it. At my school 1st-3rd grades are all in the same hall. So I make an inspirational note for each of the teachers in the hall.
Final product....sorry about the pics....I have yet to locate my real camera.
If you would like to use the quote, I uploaded it to google docs. Click here to get your copy.
On another note, I am in love with Olympic volleyball. I don't really care whether it is indoor or beach. I would really like to be any one of them....well maybe Misty May the most, since she has a huge "in" with the LA Dodgers:-) Loving that she gives a Dodger shout out at the end of each win!
Happy Monday,

Lost Weekend=Random Post + Linky Party
Where oh where did the weekend go? Let's recap:
Two volleyball games...and we made posters for some team spirit.
Now that it is finally Saltwater (sandal) Weather, toenails needed to be painted.
Lots of time planning more exciting bird activities. Having completed examples for my chickadees helps them see the big plan (and me too). So I spent some time coloring...it's therapeutic!
We are going to explore beaks and feet this week. I am planning out a foldable to be added to our lapbooks.
We are also going to start building our bird book pages. Last week, after choosing a bird to research, we gathered facts from the internet. This week we are going to put it into a non-fiction book page.
The cover will have a drawn picture of the bird, the bird's name, and a border made of words describing the bird.
The inside will have all kinds of information and drawings. I am going to have my chickadees used shape templates for their information. They can use them to trace their own paper and then write the information on it. Once they have all their information they can arrange to where the want it on the book page.
The book page will also have a border going around the page, but I am not sure we have decided what the border should have in it.
And I had to join up with A Class Act's Favorite Travel Cup Linky. Mine is a Tervis Tumbler. I LoVe these things! They don't condensate and ruin papers or the desk, and can be used for hot or cold beverages. They even fit different lids; snap on lids with straws for cold beverages or lids with sliders for warm drinks. I gave my aunt a Duke one for Christmas and my brother a Tampa Bay Rays one for his birthday. Of course...it is Dodger labeled, as well. I switch back and forth between iced tea and hot cocoa.
