August Currently...Are You Kidding Me!~

I am so in denial about what month it is!  Some of you friends, have even started school already...I can't even imagine that!  Anyway everyone's Currentlys are so fun to read.  When you visit Farley, you can check them all out too.

Listening-The music just doesn't get old!  And then I always get the songs stuck in my head.
Loving-My Dodgers are on a hot streak!  In first place...such a difference from the beginning of the season.  I have a student who is a huge Giant fan and I am not sure how he is going to handle being in my Dodger decorated classroom....
Thinking-In case you didn't know, I love reading!  I challenge my kids to summer reading and try to do the same.  Being on vacation for a couple weeks put me  abit behind in my reading, but I think I have managed to catch up.  Just need to read 13 more books by August 26th and I will have met my goal. One book for each weekday of no school.
Wanting-Last year I had 36 Chickadees!  It was nuts.  This year, I am told 29 oh please be true...please be true!  I could remove an entire table:-)
Needing-I have a fabulous library.  You can make book lists and save them.  Then when you need to check out the books, you can just select the list and then place the whole list on hold.  Check back soon, for my list of go-to first week/month of school reads.  Anyway, I need to get my list on hold so I don't end up being on a wait list
B2s Must Haves-
1) Coffee mug-The benefit to having a unique coffee mug is that every time I put it down in some random place everyone knows who to return it to.
2) Staple remover...because I never get the bulletin boards right the first time.  And the pinch and pull kind of removers drive me batty.
3) Why are chapter book read alouds so hard to find?  Looping with half my class makes it even harder.  I have narrowed it down to Wonder, Toys Go Out, or Escape From Mr. Lemoncello's Library.

Don't forget to check in with Farley and use the "Rule of 3".
Happy Thursday,

  1. My husband *cannot* stop watching Pitch Perfect. He actually recorded it so he can watch it whenever he wants now! haa haa

That is my FAVORITE staple remover. It is so so so good at getting out the heavy duty staples from the staple gun. I love it!

    1. Laurie & Stephanie,
My hubby did the SAME thing! In fact, last weekend the kids were gone and we watched it 2 times in one day. After the 2nd time, I was like you're cut off for 2 days!!! I loved the show the first time, but after about 45 times this month - I'm about done.

  2. Me too! My husband watched it one day by himself. AND I caught him singing in the shower one day. We've been married for 25 years and I've never heard him sing before.

  3. I love Pitch Perfect. I haven't listened to the soundtrack but I really like Anna Kendrick's version of Cups.

  4. Hi Laura, I found you on bloglovin and you commented on my blog last night and I wanted to return the favor. :)

I love that you're a baseball fan. Except my classroom is decked out in Cleveland Indians memorabilia. I really enjoy pitch perfect too, although I haven't actually heard the soundtrack.

    You're blog is super cute!

  6. Fingers crossed for only 29.... gosh isn't it sad that anything in the 20s is what we hope for now??!! So glad we don't have to start thinking too hard about school quite yet. Poor things starting in August.

  8. 36 kiddos! And I thought I had a lot of kids! The OEA published an article that Oregon has some of the largest class sizes in the country, and I believe it! So far I have 26 second graders, which is low in comparison to other schools in my district. I'm hoping you do have 29 this year!
