Currently January

Farley is at it again...and the party is rockin!
Listening
I have watched a LOT of tv during break.  Big Bang Theory and Gilmore Girls are not new shows, but ones I have been told to watch and they are great!
Loving
Normally I go to my aunt's every year for Christmas.  My aunt, uncle, other aunt, and three cousins all live about 5 hours away.  This year, I really wanted to celebrate with my church family...attend Christmas service and Christmas Eve Candle Light Services.  Anyway I didn't go to my aunt's, but she surprised me and came up here.  My cousin stayed to and we shopped and spent the day together.
Thinking
I have done no school type work during break...that is going to have to end soon!  I have a new student to get ready for.  I will have to get out the new student bag.
Wanting
Les Miserables was incredible.  My family went to see it on Christmas.  I am such a fan of musicals and movie versions often leave something to be desired.  Not true of Les Mis.  It was amazing...and hopefully changes the way future musicals-movies are made.
Needing
My classroom needs a makeover....not the cute kind.  I think I can usually figure out that part.  But my projector/document camera area is driving me mad!  It doesn't mount to the ceiling and to use it I end up behind my class....that does not work well.
OLW
Glad....content was my first word thought.  But in general, I am pretty content with my life...I just hate the being single part.  Glad has been on my mind for a while.  I want to be able to find the things to be glad for amongst all the trouble, sadness, and complaining around me.
Your turn...go join the party and don't forget the rule of three!

Happy Wednesday,

  2. Hi there. I found your blog through Farley's Currently. I love Gilmore Girls! When my daughter still lived at home, we would watch it together every week...no one dared to phone during our time together! Big Bang Theory is the show that I watch each week with my son. :) I love your OLW quote. I think you are right...we need to be more than just content with our life, but also be glad about what we have, so that we can truly enjoy our life! I hope 2013 is good to you!

  3. I'm single too. I do want to be married, but I have been able to find so many blessings in singleness. I figure God wouldn't make me wait this long unless He had the absolute best guy in mind for me. I will believe the same for you and hope you find many blessings for you as you wait as well.

  6. I loved Les Mis, too! I told my family that for a few days I'd sing to them and tell them how to do their chores. "Go empty the diiiishhwasheeeeeer". Imagine me singing. They didn't like that too much.

    Happy New Year!

  7. Laurie,
I'm married now, but I was single for a long, long, time. I was "that girl" whose friends were all married (some even divorced and re-married) and I got sick of being the girl who couldn't find one guy. Well, at 28 (a little too close to 30 for me), I set out to "not be single" any more. I took risks, I asked guys out, I joined online dating sites, I actually went out and didn't stay home on weekends. Now all of this didn't really "lead" to me not being single. In fact, I met a lot of guys out there that made me glad I was single. haha. But, eventually about a year later, I met my husband. We've been married almost 7 years now. I think taking risks and putting myself out there helped me. I gained a lot of confidence. I also want to say...if you do try online dating, be careful!
