Pigeons, Principals, and Pre-Writing

For those of you who love Mo Willem's Pigeon books and are looking for an easy way to help kids celebrate your principal.  I can not take credit for the idea though...HoJo's Teaching helped me out!  We reviewed Pigeon books.
Then organized his wants, his don'ts, and a principal's wants.
Then made our own version of a Pigeon Book.
Everyone at our school got a Sunnyside t-shirt for the jog-a-thon...Pigeon is ready too.
He had to add in Knufflebunny!
Pigeon knows our three school rules.
Rocket Rewards are little slips are paper you get for being caught "good"

His bubble says, "I want to be principal."
For those of you working on writing assessment, I have a freebie.  We use it for pre-benchmark writing in our district.   I read their writing and circle where their writing lands within the levels.
Click here to download a copy.  If students are writing beyond this level, then we use the benchmark scoring guide.

Happy Tuesday,
